PadelCity Takes Over Sportland Dornberg Completely
Reopening Following Insolvency of Previous Operator
A new operator for the popular sports center in Bielefeld: PadelCity, Germany’s leading padel sports provider, fully took over Sportland Dornberg in November of this year and is currently preparing to reopen the facility on December 6.
PadelCity has already been present at Sportland Dornberg since late 2024 with a total of 10 padel courts, including 6 outdoor and 4 indoor courts located in the former soccer hall, which has already been completely renovated and modernized.
Tennis Courts and Fitness Studio to Remain
Although PadelCity focuses primarily on the sport of padel, the company will retain the tennis hall with its three existing courts. In addition, PadelCity has also leased the four outdoor tennis courts belonging to the venue to maintain a year-round offering for tennis enthusiasts. Tennis subscriptions can be purchased through PadelCity for the remainder of the winter season, and subscriptions and monthly passes will also be available for the upcoming summer season. Interested athletes can already pre-register at bielefeld@padelcity.de.
The fitness studio will also remain, and will be operated in the future by the fitness chain HYVIBES, with whom PadelCity is already successfully collaborating at its Regensburg location.
Guests of the entire facility will be offered drinks and snacks in the gastro area.

The changing rooms, toilets and showers can be used free of charge at Sportland Dornberg during opening hours. The opening hours are 08-22 on weekdays and 09-20 at weekends.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation is free of charge within 60 minutes of booking. A cancellation fee of 3% of the booking fees will be charged up to 24 hours before the match. From 24 hours before the start of the game, 100% of the booking fees apply. The cost of rental clubs will be fully refunded. Special cancellation conditions apply to open matches. These are described in the FAQ section of our app
BAD WEATHER POLICY
In case of bad weather, our club manager decides on the playability of the courts. If booked matches cannot be played due to weather conditions, you can choose whether we should make a rebooking for you at the same price or issue you a voucher equal to the booking value. If your match is interrupted due to weather conditions, we will refund the booking fees proportionally. You can find all details about our ‘Bad Weather Policy’ in the FAQ section of our app.
Rackets & balls
Balls and rackets are part of the game! You can rent rackets from us. Simply add these to your court booking with the PadelCity app for €3 per racket. Balls can be purchased on-site.
FOOD & DRINKS
Happy times also off the court. After the game, it’s time for overtime. The after-match beer is just as much a part of the experience as the still water at Sportland Dornberg. By the way, food is served there starting at 5:00 PM.
